How to “Leave a copy of messages on the server” in Outlook 2007
1. Open Outlook 2007.
2. Click on ‘Tools’ the go to
‘Account Settings...’
3. Highlight the e-mail account that you created then click on “Change...” button.
4. In 'Change E-mail Account' window, click on 'More Settings...'
5. Click on the 'Advanced’ at the top of the page.
At the bottom of the page where is says “Delivery” put a check mark on the following:
- Leave a copy of messages on the server.
- Remove from server when deleted from “Deleted Items”
6. Then click on OK, and then
close the ‘Account settings...’ screen.
And from now on, mails from the server will stay there even if you have set up your account via POP3 access in an e-mail client. With your mails in the trash folder, you may want to restore them back to your inbox. They will only stay there for a couple of days depending on your e-mail providers setting for this. Restore them before you lose them.
