Need help in setting up you iPad with your Microsoft Exchange account?
In this hub, I will share with you all how to configure you iPad with your Microsoft Exchange e-mail account. Most of the users who works in a company has a company e-mail. And most of these companies use Microsoft Exchange for their mails, a side from the usual POP or IMAP access.
Microsoft Exchange offers more flexibility when it comes to syncing your mails, contacts, calendar, etc. to your e-mail client (like Outlook for example) or wireless devices that supports Microsoft Exchange (like iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, etc.).
Now, before you can set up your account in your newly bought iPad, you must make sure that ActiveSync is already provisioned to your account. And of course your e-mail account is in an Exchange environment. If you are unsure about this, you can contact your company administrator or IT support to verify all of these.
Now here are the steps on how this should be done on your iPad.
1. Tap on Settings, then go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Tap on Add Account... then tap on Microsoft Exchange.
Here are the settings that you need to fill in:
- E-mail address: This will be you complete e-mail address.
- Server: This needs to be verified with your administrator or e-mail provider.
- Domain: This needs to be verified with your administrator or e-mail provider.
- User name: This needs to be verified with your administrator or e-mail provider. Usually this is your NT4 Login, your administrator should be able to provide you with this is information.
- Password: Your password for you e-mail account
- Description: You can put what ever you want to remind you of what the account is for.
After supplying the needed information, just hit save. You will also be asked what will be synced, like mails, calendars, and contacts. You can sync all of them, a confirmation that the account has been verified will also flash on the screen.
I hope this one will be very helpful to all of you ipad users.

My work just migrated to exchange. I have set up my iPhone and all is ok. When I use the same settings on the pad I am forced to put in a password that locks the whole pad??? The data will not download until I set up this exchange password. I don't want it set up that I have to keep my iPad locked all the time. Going to settings and trying to turn off the password is not an option. Greyed out!
